DMI first, then I went to Watford to do my MMI which was missed off my assessments, then medical! All over the course of a very long time. Thanks Covid...
Honestly, I can't remember. I did my interview in March just as the Wuhan Flu was kicking off. It was the usual competency-based types though. 'Tell us of a time when you've done this' 'Tell us when you've done that' etc. Nothing unusual about them.

If you don't have the certificates or quals, you just go through the apprenticeship as normal. They're very supportive too apparently so if you're struggling...
35 weeks includes your manual handling. So you have 13 weeks of actual classroom-based training, then you do your manual handling. Once you've done that and you're able to drive a train, the paygrade goes up.

£28,400 trainee new entrant
£37,700 competent after training school (approx 35 weeks)
£54,900 fully qualified driver with core routes and traction

I'm in for Leeds. I believe there's a selection of New St and Plymouth people who are on the course starting in 3 weeks (8 people). The course that started today with 4 people is wholly New St.
I assume your medical went well Caz? I think by the looks of the email I got today about hotels, you're going to be on the same course as myself and @SJN ?

I received a phone call from the training centre just before Christmas advising me that medicals are being arranged for start of January. Anyone else in a similar boat?
Spoke to HR the other day. OPC are currently out of their offices due to the virus issue so it's going to be a while for them to tell XC results for people. I think it's going to be a case of sit tight and wait for it all to blow over. They haven't forgotten us!
