Why is TfL's web site rubbish

TfL website and App are surprisingly good. Plenty of options to filter on and really great maps for accessibility. Granted the network isn't as accessible as it would be if it were built today. Outside of first and last trains, why would you need a timetable? Bakerloo runs at a 3 minute...

    Oddball Journeys (Trivia)

Yeah, I think it was completed about 10yrs ago? I was commuting to BHM whilst the works took place (which was chaos). Once the station was completed the timetable was slightly recast so all HFD's called - some in the peak didn't as a 3+2 170 could only platform 3 carriages northbound.

    Oddball Journeys (Trivia)

The Hereford - Dorridge finished around the time Bromsgrove remodel was completed or not long after. The Unit that ran it worked a diagram of route retention moves from mid afternoon on a Saturday. WOS-BHM. Down to Bromsgrove (Via Camp Hill) and then reverse and return to BHM via Camp Hill and...

    Oddball Journeys (Trivia)

06:35 Salisbury to Worcester Foregate Street. Runs Westbury then Swindon and up to Gloucester. Everything else is via Bristol. Central Trains were the kings of the oddball service though. Great Malvern to Grantham via everywhere on whatever sprinter turned up.

    Most Disappointing Rolling Stock.

The 180's were a welcome replacement to the Turbos on the Cotswold line. At that point there were 2 HST each way and Turbos the rest of the time. The 180's I found very comfortable and very capable units not withstanding their tendency to occasionally catch fire ( but then again at that time the...

    Worcester Evening Services

How are the Camp Hill's crewed at the moment? Even split between Worcester and New Street? Do any start ECS from Worcester or are the crews Passing up to work them?

Hereford to New Street - Some services reduced to 3 cars

Which depending on the service is probably more than adequate. That said I travelled on the 0659 of WOF to BHM a few weeks ago for the first time in years and was amazed at how empty it was - had a table all too my self. 8 yrs of commuting to Birmingham pre pandemic using that service with...

    Worcester Evening Services

Saturdays have always been around the half 9 mark as the last one up, then it's around half 10 to Snow Hill and beyond. In the week there are 2 late night services, one the normal route via University and one slightly earlier that runs a route retention trip via Camp Hill (used to be via...

Different Driver Depot, Route and Traction cards

Surely a mistake, but they've missed off Worcester-Hereford plus sidings at Henwick, Malvern Wells and Hereford Diesel sidings

Different Guard Depot, Route and Traction cards

Nothing from the Snow Hill direction goes past Foregate now.

Different Guard Depot, Route and Traction cards

Do they sign out to Great Malvern? I don't think there's any work to Malvern now that comes off the Snow Hill lines - Only the New Street - Hereford's call at Malvern with Shrub Hill crews.

Midlands Rail Hub 20m extra seats

Interesting that the closure notice is displayed at New Street seeing as there is no service between the two stations.

    Cross Country Extra Trains

Harriet Baldwin is the MP for West Worcestershire, while she does champion some good causes she does love a photo in the local paper, I wouldn't personally take the words on her website as solid evidence. Worcestershire Parkway isn't technically in her constituency but will be used by her...

Trivia: places where there are properties you can only access via a level crossing?

Carmarthen Bay Holiday Park nr Ferry side, the level crossing is just inside the park and it's the only access.

WMR major disruption on the Hereford to Birmingham line (25/26 October)

Out of interest, do all parts of Shrub Hill depot need a shunter or just the newer 'Hereford' sidings where the 196's trend to go to bed? When it was just the sidings at Rainbow Hill, back road and the middle road there were never cancellations due to the lack of a shunter.
