OpenTrainTimes – Manchester Piccadilly Signal Layout

Yes, please email support - a much quicker route to getting something clarified than asking in a forum!

Report of collision Bedford (Elstow) - 19/06/26

If Berth Maps was showing a single yellow, then unless it has access to real-time data logging either trackside or from the interlocking, it's inferring what it expects the signal aspect to be. The TD at West Hampstead will only indicate two states for a signal - "most restrictive aspect" or...

    Trainmapper App

The feed is provided as-is, and reflects what's in the upstream source system. If seating capacities are incorrect (for example), there wouldn't have been much incentive for them to be fixed in the past - but now the data is more widely available, it might be an opportunity for operators to...

Passenger train consists as Open Data

Yes, there is enough detail to do that - but only where resource allocations are made. You don't know if a resource diagram is an LTP or STP diagram, therefore you can only guess (but quite reasonably most of the time) until you've had what you think are all allocations in for a particular day.

    RealTimeTrains website

I think you have the wrong view of TOCs. They don't exist solely to provide information for enthusiasts, and some may have an objection to their data going in to RTT at the exclusion of everyone else. The hate I've seen directed to TOCs who didn't share their data in the past is not pleasant...

Passenger train consists as Open Data

If you have some money, you can get access to the rail mainframe for yourself - we're taking a few thousand pounds per year for two CICS sessions. No guarantees you'll be able to make the TOPS enquiries you want, but it is possible. 1758562713 Thank you - it's been a priority of mine to get...

Passenger train consists as Open Data

There is an ICD (Interface Control Document) on its way, and some XSDs (FOI request pending) for the XML data will be available soon too. I will also write a less formal explanation of how to use the data for the Open Rail Data wiki in due course.

Passenger train consists as Open Data

It feels like you think I'm calling RTT out for not subscribing to the feed. If so, that's not correct - I was saying that now *everyone* can access the data.

Passenger train consists as Open Data

Yesterday, it was announced that the rail industry have released passenger train consists (via WebGEMINI) as Open Data on the Rail Data Marketplace. Expect sites other than RTT to have unit allocations and much more detail very soon :)

What's this train on a London Bridge departure board?

I'm impressed that it ran as a Class 2 all the way through, rather than terminating at CYP and running as a Class 5 VSTP.

    Data.atoc.org portal closing?

You could apply for an RDG Data Licence and get the data sent to you from their industry platform, the DTD Portal. Or, if you don't like the sound of the word 'licence' and still want the RDG-supplied timetable data, I'm sure you could find somebody who could give you copies of their files...

    Traksy Website

I'm sorry you've not had your tickets resolved yet - there's a backlog of them for me to go through, and I'm having to prioritise them accordingly. But now the COVID vaccination programme has almost wound down, I'll be spending less time in clinics and hopefully more time working on the website.

OpenTrainTimes maps - where has the whole c2c network gone?

You can also email support@opentraintimes.com and get a quicker reply than posting here :)

Looking for a good UK's train information API

All ARS does is set a route - TRUST derives actual platform from berth interpose/step/cancel operations reported to it from a separate system called SMART. A rather large lookup table contains a mapping of these 'moves' to a STANOX and platform, and these are reported to TRUST. I'm not sure...

    Realtime information query

I run OpenTrainTimes, and it doesn't currently use Darwin. It will do soon, as I'm actively working on switching over to using Darwin for passenger services and overlaying non-passenger services from TRUST.
