I’ve seen 4 756s in service on the ABA-MER lines on some days. The missing one today is the first service of the day, 1M06, which was a sprinter.

It would appear that there is a 756 running between Cardiff and Treherbert all day, today. Starting with 2T00. Possibly for the first time?

The 756 appears to head up to Treherbert in passenger service in the evening, and come back down in the morning before going back onto the Aberdare - Merthyrs.

197115 giving a ‘first class’ service on the Crewe - Chester shuttles today. Are there any other 197/1 with standard plus seats due into service soon?

To refuse someone who’s paid a fare that costs more than what SP asks for certainly wouldn’t look good. I suppose time will tell what happens in that instance.

Agreed. But are there enough 197s to do the work they were procured for as well as covering for mark 4 sets, without short forming?

A sensible decision. I noticed that some of them have been covered by 197s, which wouldn’t be so bad for a few-hour trip.

I can’t spot any mark 4 sets on the Manchester services today. I’m keen to book a trip but still very reluctant given the set availability.

Any news on HD03 entering service as a 5 car set tomorrow?

I’m not sure if there are other toilets on the unit, as I’m not overly familiar with the 185s. If there aren’t, then it’s convenient for first class to be near the accessible toilet. If there are other toilets, then perhaps it would have been better to have the wheelchair area and first class at...

It’s a shame the wheelchair area couldn’t be rethought, although I appreciate this is just a refresh. During my one experience, I felt so segregated from the rest of the train and its passengers.
