Hmm so my plan to acquire a drone and fly it right through the open shed doors at Fortress Toton has been foiled? Bugger...
In all fairness (part of) it was an idea that me and a mate had to buzz TO and get some good shots of the rust tugs, not that we would actually go and do it though...
I'll get the ball rolling then (or is it froth flowing)...
Could 41001 be mainlined and if so could it be mainlined by November?
Just thinking as UKRT have a good relationship with EMT who are working with Project Miller...
Major Froth :D

Nice pictures, if you ever want to go out and take some more might I recommend the Railway Herald's Railtour listings as a nifty guide to advertised railtours.

It's not perfect but it sure is mighty useful :)

A great line up is getting even better now, 37418 has been confirmed following yesterday's successful test runs. A revised timetable will be issued shortly.

What a load of tosh!
Liverpool has axed it's bus lanes as they are a hindrance and the Cambridge busway is a rather controversial one as it has been plagued with problems from the get go. The one in Crawley never got finished as the council came to it's senses and doesn't really go anywhere...
The old website is still there but they have now put a new one online at http://www.compassrail.co.uk/
Looks pretty much like a full on WCRC operation now.
Their first tour is on the 25th March, despite it being West Coast at least they are running something :)

I was on the trip to Edinburgh a fortnight ago, I think it was their last one to run. There was an announcement on the way back but it was really hard to hear as the PA wasn't exactly brilliant and too many people chatting but the gist of it was along the lines of the main guy was leaving after...
Sounded like a complete farce going off the emails that were flying around the gen groups yesterday, including from folks on the tour.
I hope there is a misunderstanding and that to quote part of the email,
Coupled with (pardon the pun) the steam ban and fire brigade strikes it's not been...
Work is progressing, the "Bo" Bogie is now pretty much 100% complete again with only a little bit of the brake rigging to be refitted. Both of the traction motors have been overhauled and put back.
Me and a few of the guys have started on the "Co" Bogie" in preparation for it's overhaul...
Thanks chaps.
I had thought about simple controls but then the brakes and throttle are combined which I'm not a fan of. While the AWS is a small pain and just requires extra attention when outside but it's the vigilance which is a real burden as it is not possible to know when it's sounding...
After many loyal years with BVE I recently got TS2014 since it was going cheap (and spent a small fortune on extras which was evidently the point). While I really enjoy it, the graphics are excellent as are the routes (Shap especially) and the soundsets are brilliant (I actually worked a loco on...
As a follow in from the previous Truck Sims thread which is now life expired & locked - Linky I started this new thread to discuss the ongoing development of Euro Truck Sim and it's American counterpart.
I haven't played ETS2 in nearly a year due to changing circumstances and have been...
I must admit a few years ago when Gary Neville turned up at Sky I thought that was a very bad idea, however he has proved me very wrong. He was very objective in the game against Manchester City & United, and went to a lot of effort to be impartial and take his job seriously.
If only the same...
Still on the mainline at Westbury working between the two yards on either side of the mainline. Got a fair bit of video of 08995 (a nice cut down cab one) doing some shunting between the two last year, it was then replaced overnight and another one was brought in by road.

It's the March Diesel Gala at the East Lancashire Railway this weekend (8-9th March).
The Beerex on Saturday should be hauled by D335 and visiting D9009 in a top and tailed formation.
