Really depends on the operator. Most will come up through Biggar which is probably the closest you'll get to Peebles. However, quite a number with go right up the M74 and along the M8 which will be no use at all to you! Would there be any buses from Berwick to Galashiels which may be more useful?

Probably worth adding Whippet's X3 which runs every 60 mins 7 days a week between Cambridge and Huntingdon via Cambourne and Papworth. It's faster than the Busway between these two points.
