Our new ticketing site is now live! Using either this or the original site (both powered by TrainSplit) helps support the running of the forum with every ticket purchase! Find out more and ask any questions/give us feedback in this thread!
I will be honest, if the ticket was purchased online and whilst it may have been a genuine mistake the ticket was for a journey which could take place in the future so potentially someone could make this journey the day after when the ticket was valid. I do accept your reasoning it was a genuine...
Hopefully can clarify this one, Employees and qualifying dependents holding LNER passes get unlimited standard class travel so when travelling in std class they have no need to fill in any boxes, that said if they travel in std with guests they do need fill a box in for each guest travelling but...
Hi Laura, first congratulations as having seen your posts over time I know you have been keen to gain a role on the railway. What I would say is relax you have done the hard work and have got the role you were after. Now. just focus on the training that will be delivered once you start, I...
Pretty much like most depots, there is overtime readily available though this could change as they are recruiting for a number for a new timetable which is expected to start from next December.

And for those interested in the role of Apprentice Train Manager @ LNER it is currently...
Hi Laura
Its currently £41055 + commission at 5% though that is the pay increase for 2022/2023 talks will commence for the 2023/2024 pay increase in February
In terms of annual leave the LNER norm is 34 days running from 1st January to 21st December, the defined benefit pension is dependent on how long you are a member of the scheme but I would say its as generous as any other railway pension scheme. The rosters vary from depot to depot but Newcastle...
Hi LB, your travel card shouldn't take too long to come through and the use of which will be explained in your welcome to in York.
In terms uniform normally with new starters, this is shipped to a home address close to your starting date, but if it is being shipped to the depot they will be in...

Hi Flyboi, good luck with your applications! In terms of LNER its the industry standard psychometrics practice materials you can get online from the OPC. like the others have said its unusual for Train Managers to come externally so it may be worth applying for other positions to get a foot in...
That's quite common to offer a temporary contract initially, most people I know work for East Coast have started the same way and worked there way up to permanent contracts, I've seen people have the temporary extended for up to 12 months and then offered a contract after this, from what I hear...
Well thats stage 1 out of the way, whether I meet TPE enhanced standards I don't know, but time will tell! But with all week assessments and some next week is a lot of competition, so good luck to everybody!
I used to be based at the airport and signed Barrow to Manchester, Windermere to Manchester, Crewe to Manchester via Wilmslow & Styal, Blackpool, Liverpool and back then also down to Birmingham.
Which depot is this for? Most of the duty managers for east coast tend to have on call duties so depending on the time of the day, I would try them at around 10/11am if they are on early duty they tend to be tied up with calls from the crews.
