Certainly no need to use 11 car on Liverpool services as the frequency has now been (virtually) doubled to 2TPH. Even if the new additional paths have curious stopping patterns.
Yes we definitely need later weekend trains. I think part of the problem, aside from lack of ambition, is the cost of staffing all stations later into the night, given Merseytravels (admirable) policy that all stations are staffed from first to last trains. With the spread of Tap & Go and the...
Definitely agree - the new name IMHO just highlights the north's obsession with making everything "London Style".

The Savaway will hopefully become the default day ticket (or fare cap). Currently the restrictive Merseyrail only Day Saver is promoted by Merseyrail in order to retain...
Yes the door opening and closing ceremony on the 777s seems to occur in agonisingly slow motion.
As reported by Roger Ford in Modern Railways, these units remain some of the most unreliable on the network.

They like to arrive at Central on time or early so that the staff changeover...

Need to scrap all the pointless announcements that the grating male voice barks at us. The antisocial behaviour announcements all day long just imply travel on Merseyrail is unsafe, the reminders to have a valid...

I wouldn’t be surprised that they’ve fudged up travel, they IMHO have certainly ruined the TC network by scrapping the T4,T12 & T14. Particularly as...
Not sure if this is a different ticket but the Powys site says
“Network Rider (South Wales) Stagecoach tickets cannot be used on Powys services.” ….or if Powys CC is just confused? Is the Network Rider ticket a cross operator ticket?
It was everywhere on the old trains. Not any more which is why is said it
The old BR wall maps survive, and a few posters. But no, nothing near what it ought to be for an admittedly fairly amateur, self proclaimed metro.
Yes absolutely agree. There seems to be competition between operators to see who can produce the longest and most mindless announcements blasted in the most annoying voice available. Northern is unbearable, and Merseyrail have taken to supplementing our gentle Julie Berry announcements with...
Good point. The almost total absence of any network maps on Merseyrail doesn’t help either. Both on trains and at stations.
Given that the Mayor seems to want to market it as a Metro surely adds to the need for some decent maps on the network.
