    Manchester Metrolink (Non speculative discussion)

I used to work above Victoria station and there were long queues at 8am on my way to the office.

    Manchester Metrolink (Non speculative discussion)

From memory the lines are insane all day, both days. It's a nightmare for us local residents. I just go away for the weekend to avoid it. I can't recall the tracks that are used, sorry.

Is it right that being able to afford a solicitor seems to improve the chances of avoiding prosecution?

Can I just raise the suggestion that this question applies to the whole of the criminal justice system? It has always been that the better defence you can afford, gives you the best outcome. I'm not suggesting it's right for one moment, but it's how life works.

    Manchester Metrolink (Non speculative discussion)

They've not done much work at Piccadilly Gardens this week, other than sit and watch somebody wielding a mallet. It was closed for 2 months last year, again this year, when will they finish any work?

Girlfriend charged with offence related to failure to buy railcard

Thank you, that will help 'the experts' better answer your query. 1780057457 I suppose for the inverted commas, they give an unintended criticism. I can't edit a post as after several years I'm considered a new member.

Girlfriend charged with offence related to failure to buy railcard

I am not an expert and am not giving advice, however I'm certain there is not an offence of failing to buy a Railcard. Others will follow to give fuller suggestions, but at the very least you need to upload the communication after redacting all references and personal details

    Witness Statement Receipt

Prosecution is unlikely if you co-operate with them. But in the worst case scenario it is very unlikely to be a bar to the Civil Service providing you declare it when asked.

Confusion over ticket acceptance on St Albans–Luton bus

Personally, i'd be raising the issue with Arriva, they should be arranging for their staff to know what tickets to accept. Thameslink are not in a position to do that. Years ago, I had a similar issue with First Leeds whose driver told me I was stupid for trying to use a plusbus ticket as it...

Discovered my 16-25 railcard was out of date for a trip i made with SWR last night, and has been for almost 10 months

Please use this as an, expensive, hint to start organising these things. I'll readily admit I tend to be almost obsessive, but I always record expiry dates, of everything, with a 7 day advanced reminder.

Does TFL ever "guess" tap in/outs

Forgive me, I cannot speak for TfL, but anyone travelling with TfGM, should know that their tap'n' go is very hit and miss.

Chinese students who exploited loophole to claim £140k in train refunds on delayed journeys are jailed

Just remember the rest of us trying to get a rail company to pay a single delay repay. I know which side I believe the fraud is occurring.

Northern re-records 34 station name announcements with local pronunciation

Great, that's the way I, as a southerner, have always pronounced it! 1755686384 I'm usually grumpy enough to think they if they spent as much time solving it as apologising for it, it might no longer be a delay.

[ SETTLED OUT OF COURT ] 400+ GBP - EXPIRED RAIL CARD for 5 GBP RIDE

I understand that, but it was another way of ensuring you don't use expired cards. I'm sure we'd all agree a calendar/diary reminder should be the preferred way of achieving this

[ SETTLED OUT OF COURT ] 400+ GBP - EXPIRED RAIL CARD for 5 GBP RIDE

My advice, as others have said, is don't use Trainline. I bought a ticket via trainpal the other day and was reminded before paying that my Railcard is no longer valid. I'm sorry this doesn't solve your current issue but may be helpful to others, or for you in the future

    Metrolink fine whilst using MOD90

I'd scan their letter and keep a copy on your phone for any further incidents
