Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Before & during Covid, Lothian had enough of a surplus fleet which allowed them to have vehicles rotated for maintenance. In this current state, if they had midibuses in the fleet, theres no guarantee they wouldn't be drafted in to cover larger vehicles when required. For some time, at least...

Methinks the news from Alexander Dennis today would suggest pressure will be put on local operators to buy their products. Can see potentially some new Lothian orders going through ADL. https://news.stv.tv/scotland/alexander-dennis-bus-maker-jobs-in-scotland-rescued-in-4m-furlough-deal

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Options are being explored for our StreetAirs to be repowered similarly to the test batch of tour buses. Options either are or were at some point explored for a conversion using a small Cummins diesel option. The thinking behind this is small contracted services. The East Lothian tenders, 13...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Time will tell with the 26. I'm a firm believer in a 26 split between Seaton Sands and Blindwells. Creating future proofed links. The Tranent runs may not be getting cancelled, but maybe cut short to Blindwells. So the "top pans" wouldn't be affected. Then the new service for Tranent...

Never have been and at this time never will be for Lothian Country. Give the newsworthy and new products to a lower performing subsidiary miles away from full engineering without full testing etc? Not a chance. They may visit, but it's not permanent at this time. The hope is that electric...

Strictly speaking, it hasn't been delivered yet. It's a Volvo/ADL testbed. It may conduct demonstration duties with other people first. It's not entirely confirmed yet, or atleast that I know of.

Yeah a good number of the native B9's have had Euro 6 mods done. Some will continue as testbeds within the fleet, before being withdrawn as the fleet replacement program accelerates. A small scale internal audit into converting the entire B9 fleet to Euro 6 was conducted - the thought was that...

Except 170 is already removed from service and is now part of the training fleet.
