It's pretty common to be put in a talent pool until a role becomes available. It could be months, it could be years. Just be patient.

I'll probably be a qualified driver at the place I am now going to, by then :lol: So, am I right in understanding that despite being in the pool, given a course date, if you are declared temporarily unfit, you are removed from the pool and have to reapply again?

Being a woman towards the latter stages of childbearing age, I have never come across this as an issue, and it would be highly illegal for it to have been used against you. There's no harm in enquiring during onboarding, or upon receiving your contract.

When I did my interview, one of the interviewers mentioned possibly starting in December. Just in time for my 40th birthday <:D

For the same job at the same place, sure, but nothing to stop anyone applying elsewhere.
