Yes, I commute so I regularly see this. You've missed the part where I said the individual was putting reservation tickets on the backs of seats for the next journey. Is this also something staff routinely do when they're travelling as passengers? This is what made me think the individual...
EMT these days seems to be very hit or miss whether they bother to acknowledge delays or even stations. Example yesterday the train was 20 minutes late coming into London. The staff didn't acknowledge that or even tell us we were coming into the station. The doors also took their time opening...
EMT advising not to travel to and from London
http://www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/information/media/disruption-information/Amended-timetable-Monday-28th-October-because-of-severe-weather-warning/
From twitter there are a number of trees in kentish town, harpenden, st albans and radlett areas...
Live departure boards not working, checked EMT's twitter. The line between bedford and London is shut until 12pm due to trees on the line. Trees are on the overhead power lines at St Albans. No alternative route from Leicester or Derby via Euston due to obstructions near London Euston.
So EMT's severe weather timetable has the 0455 from Derby getting into London at 6:48. Wonder if that's a typo. Everything else before and after is stopping at Bedford. I can't imagine many will want to be stranded at Bedford station - so the 6:34 from Leeds which arrives in London at 10:16 is...
Has anyone every received one of these addressed to someone else but using your address? Was it easy to get the rail company to believe it wasn't you and nobody of that name lives at your address?
I got one of these today from EMT, didn't realise until I'd opened and read it that it wasn't for...
Thanks for the info. She told me I had to buy it on the 31st, which I knew was bunkum. So it made me doubt the rest of what she had to say.
If you're changing from one season to another is that classed as new or renewal? For example if you have a monthly and want to buy an annual?
I tried to get an annual season ticket (EMT) starting on the 31st. I was refused by the woman at the till, saying that the system wouldn't let her. I currently have an existing season ticket that doesn't run out until next week. Not sure if it's just she doesn't know how or it is actually not...
Didn't I read something on here about it being against EU law for Virgin to carry on running the franchise in the interim? Don't the Govt have to go cap in hand to the EU and other interested parties to get some kind of exemption?
Interesting article in the standard last night

Not been keeping up with all the tooing and froing but I was reading in the paper today that First Group's increase in passenger numbers of 15% is going to be down to reducing anytime tickets by 15%. This was attributed to the head honcho? Is this actually true? I had to read it several times -...
Can't really stand the bearded one, the less of I see of him the better. However, good for him. There is something fishy about this. Knowing senior civil servants as I do, they're very good at drafting rules and procedures and then ignoring them. Also most of the one's I have the misfortune to...
I'm torn about this. On the one hand I would like to get to London much faster than the current 1hr 30 mins during peak time. On the other hand I and a lot of other people are already worrying about how much the season ticket will go upto at the end of the year. Wondering if we would still be...
