    Hopefully. The city definitely needs a modern railway station/transport hub. Would be a good place for a new station. There is a lot of regeneration work starting to happen i.e: The old Vaux Site so hopefully this will happen.

    Sunderland definitely....the station itself is below ground and so outdated now. It’s a dark and miserable station. It’s in desperate need of investment and regeneration. It’s basically like a concrete central island stuck in a dark cave, with a few seats.

    Newcastle to Sunderland - A dreary and awful journey, through various **** holes and old industrial areas that are just bleak....then you arrive in Sunderland Station!!!

    Tyne and Wear Metro Test Track

    I think this was built by the heritage railway themselves. They run ‘Santa Specials’ and various other trips during the year. Their train runs from the main Stephenson Railway site and stops at that concrete platform and then returns.
