I see all the moaning about Pacers. Typically the Newcastle - Carlisle runs are 60% 156 and 40% 142 (if not more 156). They really aren't that bad; especially not to not go somewhere in case you do get one.

Not just on the services mentioned above. A few weeks ago there was loads of £9.90 (with 16-25 railcard) advance singles from both Newcastle and Carlisle to London, slotting around the peak trains quite nicely. However now they've been replaced with £25+ (VTEC) or £37 (VTWC) fares for the same...
There's the Sky1 documentary about East Coast trains; sometimes repeated on Pick TV or Sky2.
Otherwise the Tube is a good watch, most episodes available on Youtube.
It was only Aberdeen and Inverness services (with the exception of a Newcastle - Edinburgh 'shuttle') which were diverted; the rest being started/terminated at Newcastle or Berwick.
For the record, the following ran via Carlisle:
1S03, 1F05 (above mentioned shuttle), 1E11, 1E13, 1S11...

I was quite surprised to not see any interviews with angry (sorry, furious) commuters saying that they pay enough for their season ticket already and the company are taking their custom for granted, that sort of stuff :)
