Sight and hearing tests. Colour blindness test, ECG, height and weight for BMI. Drug and alcohol pee test. Proctological exam..... possibly not the last
Atm we have booked/rostered Sundays (roughly 2 a month) which we can make ourselves unavailable for, if someone has put in for Sunday overtime, if no one has then you've to work them. It's an enhanced rate at GWR currently. Far as I'm aware for tocs with Sundays inside the week it's standard...
Last I heard the DFT wanted us to give them our Sundays are part of the pay negotiation. Aslef see it as a separate negotiation as Sundays outside is a term and condition we can sell anytime, historically Sundays have been worth a £4-5k increase when sold so should be a separate pay talk. See...
Wait until there's a trainee driver advert. Apply, pass the online tests, pass the standardised rail assessments, pass the multi modal interview. Then you'll get a Driver manager interview.
They'll have a record of when you passed as it's obviously a requirement. Whether they tell you when your assessments are about to expire or not I'm not sure. Best thing is monitor it yourself and, hopefully not, but if you're approaching five years contact HR and let them know. I can't be...

Thanks. Long time getting there but it's definitely worth it. Hopefully your training is significantly quicker having waited so long to get to it. If you need any help during the course I'm happy to help if I can
We were put in hotels because our travel time was 2hr 40m from our depot. Not sure how long the cut off is. Far as I know you can claim travelling time

Just checked and you qualify for hotels if the journey is over 1 1/2 hours

I'm not sure if HEX is different in t&c for new starters but the other trainees at gwr qualify at 80% of full wage and it then increases 10% after 1 full productive year and to full whack after 2 years. RD work is 1 1/4. Could be HEX is different terms though
