The actual test sheet is one big sheet about the size of 3 A4 sheets. It has 5 sections of dots. Each section is lines of mixed dots, groups of 3, 4, 5, 6 dots. You pick out the groups of 4 dots only. Download the group bourdon tool from this site and print some sheets off to practice...

Speed and accuracy is what you need. So overdo it with the practice is what I’m saying.

If you don’t need glasses for reading then no. Get some bourdon sheets printed out and see if the dots are clear with or without your glasses.

Thanks for the messages. It’s bad news!! Needed passes to enhanced level which I got apart from on the group bourdon which I only passed to national level. So that was me sent home early. I’m gutted, but will take the experience to hopefully help me pass next time. It’s a 6 month wait now...

I think if you fail you can’t apply again for 6 months Lee. I’m unsure though. I’m sure someone will either confirm this or give the correct info.
