Harrow and Wealdstone to Queens Park timings

The LUL trains are also ‘approach controlled’ onto LUL infrastructure and crawl through the carriage shed before arriving at Queens Park

"Infrastructure damage" - What is broken on the District line today? (17/06)

I think this is because the West London Line has been shut all day due to OHLE damage in the North Pole area. Some Clapham trains have been diverting to Richmond.

First Rail Stirling (Lumo) Rolling Stock

222603 was seen on Wembley Intercity Depot today when I was at work.

ECS moves that could become passenger services

London Northwestern have one ECS that has changed into a passenger working. Which means Tring now enjoys a 17:30 departure non stop to Euston.

Year 10/12 Work Experience on the Railway - General Discussion

It’s a shame as it’s a far cry from the days of BR. At the age of 15 in 1990 I did two weeks at Paddington, covering everything from Red Star Parcels, Telephone Enquiry Bureaux, assisted travel, station control including announcing, dispatching, days out the Railway Training Scheme recruits -...

Low-speed, empty stock derailment at Bletchley (26/06)

Correct. But they could have made an un-signalled wrong direction move without derailing the train to get them out of the problem. There would also be route cards to assist them for the straight route in the correct direction.

Chiltern MK5s Starting 2026 (non speculative updates thread)

I’m the exact opposite, I found the head rest in first class very uncomfortable - so much I so I moved out before departure from Marylebone and into Standard which was a bit better.

Yeah that. Digs into the shoulder blade area.

Chiltern MK5s Starting 2026 (non speculative updates thread)

I personally found the 1st class seats very uncomfortable, I got on at Marylebone prepared to pay the upgrade. I sat for a few minutes, then got up and went to standard. The headrest in particular did not suit me. Sad to say I bailed out at Leamington as I found the ride quality and train to be...

What would you do to improve the London Underground?

I think with 10 trains per hour on the Slow Lines between Wembley and Watford you’d struggle to run much, if any, freight. And while I’d love to see 8 trains an hour at Tring heading to Euston there really is no need for that Off Peak.

CHILTERN - Why does Princes Risborough have a poor service from the North?

Yeah I had to do this the other day due to disruption.

    TOT-PAD 01.03.2026 and avoiding RRBs

There is no way to get from Totnes to Exeter without using the RRB. That is the only railway line between the two locations. It’s discussed pretty frequently every time a storm shuts the line at Dawlish.
