Class 387

First post but thought I'd join as hoping someone can help explain why there seems a reluctance to use anything other than a old 319 on the 7am Brighton to Bedford service? I'm guessing it may be a capacity issue as the 387 may have less seats and this appears the busiest train in my experience...
