OPC making errors when conducting Assessments! Be Careful

I cannot remember how the emergency question was worded exactly but remember answering it in such a way that I was in control of it. I worked for the railways before I became a driver so I used an emergency situation from being station staff. In saying that someone mentioned about working alone...

OPC making errors when conducting Assessments! Be Careful

At the time I thought that was pretty decent. Bearing in mind I did my MMI back in 2016 although from reading the posts here everyone seemed to be in for an hour anyway. The interview was flowing really well and next thing I was like been in here a long time

    TPE trainee drivers

I applied with First when they still had ScotRail franchise, considering I was already on reserve list with another TOC and done the online tests..completed them and got told a day later all the positions were filled. Thought having already did all the tests would be an advantage

OPC making errors when conducting Assessments! Be Careful

That is a very strange length of time. How can the interview be so short? When I did my MMI I was in nearly 2.5 hours

A career as a train driver

I am in the middle of my train driver training for NIR and completed my MMI over 2 years ago. Be prepared to give as much detail as possible in the questions. The interviewer will try to dig as much info as possible and try and trip you up so if unsure of an answer, do not make it up. You flesh...

Multi Modal Interview Assessment Day 2

I passed my MMI in February for NIR. The questions are pretty much the same. You get 15 mins or so to write some brief answers down which are then elaborated upon in the interview itself. I found these quite easy and was able to answer all fully. I think if you have a hobby which has safety...

    Group Bourdon Tool

As you are practicing a good tip is to learn the combinations of 4 dots as they are limited so instead of counting the dots as you go recognising groups instead of counting will speed you up. however as above accuracy is key. The real test should be a paper test so I would print off practice...

    Last of the 80 class

I do believe that this year was the last year of it in service as a sandite train as a tender was put out for a new machine however you never know....

    Group Bourdon Tool

It is surprising how quick the group bourden test goes. just work quickly and accurately. if you have any practice sheets or have the software tool, learning to recognise groups of 4 dots rather than counting them is a good tip!

    NIR Class 111

It hauls the VMT as well on occasion and can be used to test tracks during poor conditions. a couple of months ago we had really bad flooding between Newry and Portadown resulting in line closure. on the day of reopening it ran up and down the line to test the tracks at a 25mph speed limit

TRP Part 2, cables and dials.

I thought the TEA-Occ was a lot easier than i thought it would be. In the first test you have to ignore the high pitched tones which was tricky. but in the third part he asks "How Many" and then you start again. nearly sure the tones were spaced the same distance apart although i echo the...

    Trainee Train Driver Managers Interview

My Multi Modal Interview is next Tuesday for Northern Ireland Railways. hopefully I can talk the talk. I have a few examples from my personal life and work life that should cover it. I am very nervous to say the least; interviews are where i fall down.
