    Unbuilt Connection to London Waterloo?

Someone already touched on it, but sitting on top is the relay room for Charing Cross. The arches were occupied previously for the high rises/towers construction and is now abandoned. I had a little explore during the Charing cross blockade after a shift and I think there was 3 arches...

Lewes derailment - Thursday 13th August

I saw a video circling around on Facebook of them towing a carriage by crane very slowly. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18nAcqb1RF/ Video links to Facebook and shows a kirkrow crane towing the crane from one end through a station.

The reopening date has been announced internally at network rail so shouldn't be too long before its public.

    What is loadshed?

When a train has been off power for too long, it goes into loadshed. What is this? And why can't a train carry on as normal if in loadshed but has regained traction power.

Lewes derailment - Thursday 13th August

Sorry I meant that the rear of the train as in the last coach. Similar to when you ride a roller coaster. The back always seems more turbulent than the front.

Lewes derailment - Thursday 13th August

I've seen regular reports online about poor ride quality in this area. I wonder if the forces experienced in the cab would be different to forces experienced at the rear of the train.

    Location Cabinets in hot weather

Network rail has done trials, sticking reflective insulating materials to the outside of LOCs, I think in the Waterloo area. Unipart have also developed different LOC designs that help with heat mitigation but the cost increase is quite significant

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

I can confirm that GTR is indeed going to be Greater Thameslink Railway. A notice was sent out to southern NR staff last month explaining this.

Trivia: Defunct TOC names still used by passengers / media

Not seen it mentioned yet but GTR will retain its letters when it comes under public ownership in a few months. It will stand for Greater Thameslink Railway. We were told last Friday in an internal network rail bulletin. Nice to know thameslink will continue going
