They both look somewhat noisey. This is usually caused by the ISO being too high.
For the first one I would try a long exposure shot.
As for the second, I expect this is what you have done, but I would shoot it in colour at a low ISO then retouch it to black and white in Photoshop.
I will also agree there ... I mean I am going out on work experience with the "Operations Director" :lol:
Makes me wonder .. do you think I will do anything to do with operations? :wink:

Although, I don't actually have a job considering I am still in school - I still think it was worthy of a publish - even for a first attempt..these things take time! :lol:
I don't mind a bit of criticism.
Purposely done as if you were reading a real magazine - for example, You see the front page, open the next and you have a 'Double Spread' - Then on the back page you get sport .. and that is a single page. Get my drift?
