Staff can apply for parking permit for car park located near the station accessed via Midland St. This is done via Network Rail offices in Central Station, get yourself on the waiting list for a space.
In the meantime, I think the closest street without parking restrictions is Salkeld St on the...
Booking on/off times vary with link 1 and 2 but earliest book on is around 0430 and latest book off around 0145. Traction again depends on the link (as do the routes signed for). 380s, 385s, 314s, 318s, 320s 156s(link 2 only), all work out of Central.
I worked in Train Presentation but moved on a couple of years ago. Shift patterns have changed since then and I'm unsure what they are though I'm sure they're still dependant on where you are. I found night shift ok to be honest, but everybody is different. The work is hard going at times but...
Do you mean courses for those who have passed all interviews/assessments/medical etc and have been offered a trainee driver position. Or courses to help with the process of becoming a trainee driver?

Sorry to hear that St Mikey. What stage did you get to? Im internal too and sounds like you may have got the same email as I did. Sat the DMI, 'passed' but will not progress any further.

I think Scotrail (and other TOCs) take on drivers each year...
So unfortunately I won't be progressing any further than the Managers interview. I asked for some feedback on where my interview was weakest (to improve future interviews) but was told I hadn't failed. The managers felt I had a good interview but due to the large number of applicants, not all...
Just for general info for those in the same boat as me. I sat the DM interview on 01/12/15. Was told to expect 2 week wait, at least, to hear news. Called HR the other day and (as expected) they are still working through results for many of these interviews. They hoped to let people know before...
You can print off sheets for practising the GB test. I found this helpful as there is a difference in doing it on paper v on the computer. (Highlight the box for 'show answers' to make checking your accuracy very quick/easy)
