Awesome, appreciate that and it must seem odd for someone who works on the railway to be so clueless but as I say, family life with kids growing up meaning I didn't do much leisure travelling far and not working in retail side since 2019 have taken their toll.
Having used the RSTL website this...
Thanks for all the info, you mention booking sites so does this mean that there is no option to use the TOC 75% discount on this journey from Edinburgh to Fort William I presume.
Thanks again for such a detailed reply.
Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted and due to family life a long time since e I've really done much exciting UK rail leisure travel.
I hold non-safeguarded staff travel as does my wife and I'm trying to plan a few days away short notice for our 20th anniversary. Prior to...
Rarely, but it certainly can happen - I photographed this occurrence with fare paying passengers on board with the returning Shakespeare Express in July 2022.
I've just started my rules course for depot driver with Chiltern Railways and one of the other successful candidates is 51, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Best of luck
Around 3 and a half years ago I sat tests, MMI etc for the depot that was under construction at the time. After the DMI I was informed I was successful, but held back for a phase 2 course. However due to delays and construction problems in Dec 2016 I git an email saying phase 2 was being...
I've got my feedback, basically says I'm not very good and interviews and when under the pressure lost focus and talked bollocks.
It's depressingly accurate I think
Just got an email through from WMT saying I am unsuccessful, hopefully others waiting who get nothing have got through. I never thrive in an interview environment and whatever changes or preparation I've done are not sufficient as that's my 2nd failure of the year (counting Freightliner too).
That's exactly how I felt it went, I'd arrived slightly early and they were ready to go. I was in my Chiltern uniform due to having to work as the interview was short notice, but I turned that to my advantage pointing out that I'd swapped shifts in order to not leave the team short on the day...
Well, it's been a long wait, just received an email from Abellio inviting me to an interview with several dates and times available for me to pick from.
This is for the Trainee Train Diver job at Worcester
I'm the same, got the email saying about meeting the standard for SJT. I've got a full set of enhanced test passes with mechanical and MMI, so let's see what that means for the next phase.
It did say the wait may be up to 12 weeks!!! Blimey
This happened to me previously with vacancies for WMT at Leamington Spa, it was frustrating and I wasn't going to go through the same this time so I spent all of my down time at work on the 12th completing my application. Sorry you've missed out but there seems to be a lot coming around at the...
