My point being they were willing to accept the delay for the number of users who use Apple Pay, if the delay for barcode readers is similar, then the motivation is purely financial. I expect there to be many orders of magnitude more Apple Pay users on LU than cross-london transferring national...
Ever been behind someone trying to use Apple Pay without it ready? Now that's slow! Modern barcode scanners are pretty quick - i'd be surprised if a camera based scanner couldn't be almost as fast as someone using contactless.
I do a lot of JavaScript programming as part of my job, and while I've not used Wix Corvus myself it looks similar to other technologies I've used before. Feel free to send me a message and I'll see if I can assist at all.
I have considered this, however on balance given that the government has advised against all non-essential travel for in all likelihood at least a quarter of the year I find it poor that TOCs are continuing to refund annual seasons based on period pricing and therefore have no qualms in changing...
I have to take back what I previously said about changing a Key smartcard ticket - I took it to Flitwick station to do this and 1) the clerk didn't know what a changeover was, 2) said it can only be done online (it can't be done online at all), 3) said it wouldn't be done at the price in force...
I changed from a Flitwick - London Zones 1-6 to a Flitwick - London Thameslink season a couple of years back on the Key. I think they took the smartcard and issued a paper replacement. I then had to go collect the updated smartcard and surrender the paper ticket - so I would assume it would be...
Given tonight's advice on non-essential travel, and given people see the railways as something the government controls I can't see them not offering admin fee free refunds pro-rated without the 40x weekly calculation. Plus anyone on old pricing will pay new prices when they head back to work...
I'm thinking the same thing - I worked out I'll need to be home for 8 weeks before a refund on standard terms makes economic sense and that's right on the edge of likelihood right now. However a refund I can do online but a changeover I don't appear to be able to which means leaving the house to...
I had a play with this today and it found a split on a 25 minute journey I would never think to try - so from that perspective it will be very positive.
I always look at the split ticketing websites first but do find trying to navigate some of them in terms of selecting a service at the time I...
I purchased one of these fares from the LNR website two weeks ago, I think I just had to add Stafford as a via point.
Train split also showed it in standard mode which was how I first discovered it existed (and at first didn't believe it as it is such a good value fare).
Can't believe I missed this thread earlier either, thanks for the link Yorkie! I am a full stack web dev working at a startup creating an Employee Engagement app for frontline workforces (unsurprisingly transport is proving a great sector to focus on). I primarily manage and deliver customer...
It wouldn't necessarily be added to the timetable depending on how the contract is written and how much NR are allowed to push back. Would certainly be priced into the bid though and I agree any mitigations are unlikely to be beneficial to the passenger.
