It is likely that early termination of the lease is all or nothing. As other have said, an early termination fee likely doesn’t save much money and is likely to be a reducing fee as we approach the contractual end date.
So all the time that SWR can make use of 2 or 3 pairs to avoid...
Usually, a simple three/four hook system applied to anchor points or axels on the base of wheelchair/scooter.
Most in the US are ratchet to tighten, quick release to remove.
More modern system is the Q-straint Quantum where user backs in position and arm engages each side of device to hold...
This is my daughter’s chair, weighing in at 103kg before accessories and user.
I’m not arguing that there are some lighter alternatives depending upon the user’s requirements.
When I’ve been in the US restraining them is really common.
The derailment near Lewes today got me thinking, a person being thrown across a carriage is terrible enough, however an adult in an electric wheelchair could be lethal to those around them.
Typical powered wheelchairs weigh about 16 stone plus their user (proper powered wheelchair rather than...
Is it more to do with needing additional train crew to run additional services? Can’t run more services without additional crew.
No point running 2x701/5 if a 701/0 is available. Doesn’t mean that they can’t be cleared for service in the meantime, even if not then in service.
These six units are presumably what provide the stock for the additional mainline services in the December 26 timetable (on the basis that no 701/5s are in service by then).
Presumably if they are not publishing a VSTP entry, then the published timetable of the day remains via Woking for these services therefore any delay on a journey to / from / changing at Woking qualifies for delay repay if more than 15 minutes delayed.
All users prefer a less cramped train. I used to know people who specifically aimed for the shoulder peak 444 service to Alton that used to run.
As I have said to others, the real issue was an expectation set many years ago by senior management that should not have been.
Passengers will make a...
So the stopper which the diverted service almost catches is due at Surbiton at xx40 therefore the diverted service should be through Surbiton at xx42/xx43. It is ordinarily timetabled through at xx38. So 5 minutes delay yes, where us the other 20 coming from?
No one was moaning about rolling stock. More a comment about it not being possible to run as 15.444 or 16.450. Presumably it’s a 444 service because there isn’t a bunch of spare 450s sat round idle. There are more 444s available than what are needed for the Weymouth’s - they have to be used...
I had forgotten that Southern no longer run through to Guildford. Should make pathing easier. In which case, I’d support routing 2 tph fast services that way. Push the stopper and the Haslemere terminator via Woking. Provides lots of opportunities for Pompey Direct folk to get to Woking, and...
Happy to be wrong but that wasn’t my recollection for most of the 2010s when I commuted to London Road. Admittedly it may have only been one hour which maxed out at 6 stopping plus two fast Pompey directs.
This is fine until a delay at the country end of the Pompey fast means that the fast service gets routed behind the new line stopper, or the new line stopper is delayed and then joins the mainline late and misses its turnaround at Waterloo.
The best answer would be capital investment to build...
