Obviously still frustrated by the changes at Durham (all of total capacity from Durham, timings, destinations and the knock on effect on cheaper advance availability), but good to see the additional fleet utilisation.
Have they accounted for the loss of seats on existing services which are reduced to 5 car though? Whilst I would have thought they had, that calculation doesn't seem too.
As a Durham train user I'm quite worried by the reduction in seats from here on a lot of services - the 5 car TPEs are...
It's 47 minutes between arrivals into Newcastle compared to what is normally around 31 minutes now (varies throughout the day, noted that some hours are longer - people have been complaining about those gaps for far longer than just this consultation period). That's a reasonably big difference...
Sorry, but I don't think many regular users of Durham will agree they are gaining from this timetable. Yes, it looks like general journey time to/from London is 10 minutes quicker (except on Sundays when they might actually be slower, not checked them all?) but otherwise...

At around 19:15 the communication about rail replacement buses/taxis leaving Newcastle was only being done face to face rather than over the speakers - this meant our taxi with room for about 8 left with 3 onboard. Whilst there was a plentiful supply of staff within Newcastle Station itself...
Personally I'm not going to claim there's no benefit to the wider north, but most of the benefit is for Newcastle and Edinburgh to London journeys - it's very much a negative for Durham (my local station).
