As far as I know, all signalling training for Scotland is normally done at Shettleston (Glasgow) although when they are short of places they do occasionally send people to York.

No. If you're nights on the last Saturday of the pay period you get paid for the full shift including the enhancement for the hours that you are rostered after midnight into Sunday.

If you are rostered to work on a Bank Holiday you have a choice, 250% of your normal shift pay (HROP), or 150% of your normal shift pay plus a day off in lieu (LROP). Personally I always take the LROP as they don't take 40% of your lieu day off you in tax!!

The only 8 hour shifts I've done were on an NX panel and we got one 50 minute meal break during the shift. I guess it would be different on a workstation with VDU regulations.
