Warrington West would be my closest station so I'd like to see it built. However, has the business case been weakened due to the Chat Moss line being electrified? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought trans Pennine services would soon not use the southern CLC line?
Have a look at trainsplit.com for ticketing options. When I go to Headingley, I just get the train to Burley Park station and walk 10 minutes to the ground. I don't think there's any "rugby league pubs" as such but there's loads of options on Otley Road as it's a student area.

I think it's fair to say that the programmes are not aimed at anybody with any sort of knowledge on railway infrastructure and allocations of traction. :)
I don't mind Portillo really. He comes across as a fairly affable character and it's all good, clean fun. I agree that some episodes are made to a tried and tested format and can appear generic especially if you've watched every episode. I'd like to see him do a full series in North America.

There's also Bescot Stadium station, next to the home of Walsall FC. Used it a few times but you have to be wary of local youths spoiling for a punch up on the opposite platform if you are an away fan.
