I've noticed the ride quality on the 700's from Bedford appears to be getting worse, I tend to sit in the declassified first class, and the lurching around makes working on a laptop difficult (now this maybe down to the track quality), but I also travel from Biggleswade regularly catching both...

Think this is good news for Eastleigh Works, as St Modwen buy up industrial sites to build houses on them (look at Rover Longbridge), they tend to lease them out until such time as the think they can build houses on them, so if St Modwen have sold it on, I'd guess it's too difficult to get turn...
I agree with pretty much all of this, for speed, displays and doors all are good. Anything was a step up from the 319's, while I like a table (so I can work...it's a 1hr 45min to 2hr plus journey time Bedford to Gatwick..I can get a lot done if I go EMT & GatEx even allowing for faffing around...
Unfortunately this was the case, but until a few months ago we still had a few 377's to enjoy if you got the timing right (the 18:10 Gatwick to Bedford was one of those where you could travel without getting back pain and sore knees).
I have to travel from Bedford to Gatwick at least once a week, and yes the service is pretty reliable, but the 700's are a retrograde step in terms of comfort compared to the the 375's and 387's they replaced (but the 700's are certainly no worse than the 319's). Unfortunately my current option...
