I've always hated "London Road" as a station name, in both Guildford and Brighton - they're ridiculously vague. London Road (Brighton), which isn't even near London Road (it's several hundred yards away) should be renamed, but it's hard to see what. "Ditchling Road" doesn't really help the...

"Parkway" doesn't refer to the airport, but the city - it's intended to act as a park-and-ride point of departure for commuters into Southampton.

Except "Parkway" would suggest that there is some subsantial parking at the station. Horwich Parkway is intended to serve as a park-and-ride for commuters, and Blackrod most certainly isn't.

And Torquay's ground is quite away uphill from the town. If you walk from Torre it's a little less steep.

Have fun hiking from Yeovil Pen Mill station to Huish Park - that took me about 45 minutes I think.

Like "Beaulieu Road". Also "Lyndhurst Road", before it was renamed for the village that is actually adjacent to it!

If we're talking tunnels, the obvious has to be St Leonards Warrior Square - tunnels immediately at both ends of the station, but otherwise completely in daylight.

In the same vein, the old Winchester Chesil station and its surroundings would make a good model.

There's a settlement which grew up around Micheldever station in Hampshire, which rather confusingly (to non-locals at least) is actually called "Micheldever Station". The actual village of Micheldever is about 2.5 miles further south.
