What am I being Prosecuted for?

Having read the evidence presented and some of the replies relating to it, I can't help but feel sorry for the chap under prosecution. Admittedly he purchased a ticket using the wrong rail card number, but his intentions behind this were innocent enough and there was no underlying motive to act...
