I have noticed that the 0651 from Reading to Redhill doesn’t seem to be in the new timetable ( unless it still hasnt been loaded yet)
If this is no longer running, that leaves an almost hour gap in services on the Reading to Gatwick line, and an almost hour and a half gap at local stations such...
A welcome change, as this was yet more unnecessary information. Just a shame they have now reverted to some new AI voice which doesnt sound natural at all.
Thats good to hear. Is part of the problem that guards and drivers do not work the same trains together all day, therefore if their train is delayed, this then affects two later services rather than one?
I appreciate this is not just an SWR issue, but they do seem to take far longer to recover...
Pretty shambolic that 6 hours later SWR are still unable to run a remotely decent service. I appreciate there was also a signalling issue in the Barnes area but that should not be affecting the Suburban/ Wimbledon side.
The train only has 7 minutes to be cleared out. So if it is just a few minutes late I can imagine the GWR service will be let into Wokingham first.
And it is only one service which terminates at Wokingham, the rest all run through to Reading, so we should at least be grateful for that.
If it’s anything like my experience of splitting class 387s at Reading, there are so many different causes of delays. Something as simple as a trainee driver, or one that does the process slightly differently, can add additional time. Also depends on how many people are in the set that is...
Yes it is only temporary. An over-height vehicle drove in to the car park and damaged something that was attached to the roof. I believe it was a duct, part of it fell of.
I understand that, but it’s surely not beyond controllers ability to do a set swap with another type of stock. There will be plenty of services at Waterloo at around 0900 which is when the diagram heads back to Wimbledon. As long as the 455 is initially put on a diagram which is at Waterloo...
It really is poor that they chose those services, let alone two days in a row. Surely there would be a way to put the 455s on a different morning only diagram.
Most likely chance. There have been 2 car units on the Basingstoke and Gatwick’s recently which suggest things still aren’t great. Although there haven't been too many cancellations so I can’t complain really.
Unfortunately 701001 seems to have rather major bug with the announcement system. I was on a service to Reading and it seemed the train could not say the word Reading. When announcing ”this is the SWR service to…” it then went silent. Similarly, when doing the calling pattern, it would announce...
