I vaguely remember NX introducing a Gatwick to Canterbury (or maybe Dover) service a few years ago but it not lasting very long. Also remember Megabus briefly introducing a service between Bristol and Canterbury which probably lasted for a few months at the most.
The London to Dover route seems...
Service X91 between Bristol and Ubley reverses by the Clocktower at East Harptree. Except when I last rode it a few months ago with Eurocoaches on an Enviro 200, the driver wasn't comfortable about reversing and instead detoured round a series of narrow roads to rejoin the route.
Service 620 (Bath to Old Sodbury) has a journey in each direction that stops inside Chipping Sodbury School.
I've definitely been on journeys out of Chippenham in the past which have gone into the grounds of Sheldon School and I think there might be buses that go into the grounds of KLB...
What about Greenline Services such as the one between London and Windsor?
Rewind 15-20 years and coaches were commonplace on those but nowadays buses have taken their place.
Does anyone have any idea as to what is happening with the 31, 37 and 38? I know its been a couple of years since the funding for the Sunday journeys on the 38 got introduced. Can anyone remember how long that was meant to last for?
National Express look to be cutting back services from Bristol with reductions to the 040 (Bristol to London) timetable and changes to the Cross Country services including Bristol Airport and the overnight 106 from Penzance-Birmingham-Penzance getting dropped and journeys between Bristol and...
I remember riding a Saphire Decker on the 38 when I visited Crewe during October 2020.
From what I saw when I visited the area in 2022 and early 2023, the 31 and 37 were operated with a mixture of Single and Double Deck vehicles whilst the 38 seemed to be mainly using Single Deck Pulsars with...
I'm aware that the escalators at Birmingham Airport got removed a few years back and have been replaced with several large lifts.
However I'd be interested to find out, is staircase access now available as an alternative to using the lifts? Looking online I've only found mixed things about...
I'm pretty sure that the stop at Earls Court (now Hammersmith by Tesco) used to be served as standard on all journeys on the 040 Bristol to London route but remember a point where drivers started serving it only if passengers requested it in advance. Got caught out by that once when I wanted to...
I've heard suggestions that National Express have pulled out of the deal with Caetano to have the Levante as the standard coach for NX operators. Does anyone on here know anything more about this?
Did anyone on here attend a school where Sports/Games sessions involved traveling off site by bus/coach?
I personally experienced this for 2 years between 1997 and 1999 when I attended an Independent school in Winterbourne and on Monday afternoons we travelled to Yate Leisure Centre for...
Thanks to those who have taken the time to respond.
I was under the impression that at the end of Arriva's time in the area, the 38 only had single deck vehicles allocated (Pulsars) with Mellor Stratas and Solos appearing on the late night workings. Certainly when I visited during 2022 that...
