I think you're right. Not really fair but I guess life ain't really. I'm just dissapointed not to even get a shot at it when others have with, from their own admission, not the best cover letter and CV.

I think there is something in this. It really doesn't seem like there's any consistency for people who are getting through. I have a good number of transferable skills and that was clear in my CV and in the opening paragraph of my cover letter. Who knows what they're looking for? :-?
Yet more misinformed journalism. The job advert, which I printed out, says the last assessment centre is on 2nd February. There's also the psychometrics to do after that too. Then medicals etc etc.
Yeah I agree. I don't think you could expect a negative response even though it would be nice. But the figures just don't allow that really. I'll be sticking to that rule. If there's nothing in my inbox by 1st November then I've not got through this time.
