Might sound a daft question, but I saw this leave DIRFT under diesel power yesterday evening. On Monday evening, I was at Easenhall, and it was operating under electric power, panto up. Whereabouts does it change over?
So as an AHB this crossing is triggered by the approaching train, once signals are set in its favour? I did have a look at this crossing on You Tube and it is 20 seconds from when the barrier is fully horizontal, to the passing of the train across the crossing.
Just saw this on Railcam at Watford, and checked out its routing, thinking it might go through Nuneaton up the Trent Valley. Found out it now goes via Coventry-Bescot- Penkridge. When did this occur and is it the norm? Why is this?
The recording data , with other evidence (Railcam?) will tell more about line speeds and driving before the collision , RAIB will be over this now its been acquired.
I noticed it (1H46) was on the section at the Railcam position as ‘passing’. Where is the Railcam in relation to the collision site? Would the trains have gotten past it ? If so, there’ll be more evidence.
I've noticed on Traksy that this was supposed to be heading along the Nuneaton-Coventry-Leamington line (that's what it is timetabled to do on the system), but is now at Rugby. Will this now use the Bletchley-Oxford line?
