I think it is exactly the reason why - better visibility of the back seats and less likely to vandalise/burn the seat backs. It’s easier to replace seat covers than potentially risk burning the bus down when the “yoof” play with lighters.
Many older Wright models on the rear lost their badging as it wasn’t moulded. It was essentially paint or a vinyl - e.g. Renown’s. Notably some repainted Gemini’s lost their rear grill badging, I am led to believe this was due to the small fixings deteriorating, so they just left a plain grill...
Are we forgetting that a circular defeats the apparent objectives? Up to Muller Rd Top will hardly give any extra capacity to the centre in addition to the 75/76?
I don’t disagree but it was stated before that the pool of B9’s was interchangeable and no specific “batch” was allocated to a set of services minus branding.
Whilst I don’t believe they are visually too different to the other fleet as is so they won’t really matter to the average punter, I do believe there is some marketing opportunity to shout about the new cross-city routes - unless their hand was forced by WECA so they aren’t to keen on pushing...
Service 74 rerouted to terminate at Temple Meads, presumably as a replacement for 70/73 from that end of the city.

I’d imagine given their small bodywork range (only low floor mid-full singles) they want to show how flexible they were with all chassis options, considering how relatively new they were considering their comparisons.
