Not sure what measure they're using but Beaconsfield to WJ is <1hr in my opinion. Quite a few drivers live further out and all under an hour via public transport if you time it right. Chiltern, Met, Bakerloo & Overground don't run...

Sounds like you're not issued with a "TocWATCH" but with a watch that isn't fit for punctuality.
The TOC where 172 007 used to be issues a TocWATCH that's radio controlled.
Our TCMS clocks are also inaccurate.

I echo what most have contributed on here - signaller first, my most recent example was at a terminus and I had the road already but couldn't get interlock, it was a no brainer to let the signaller know first before I started fault...
