Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Very interesting comments above, what a shame. I've been looking again at Real Time Trains for the past few days and it looks like 810 010 has been having a few issues lately, as well as failing on Friday it also seems to have failed on Saturday and again today. Maybe some sort of...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Having a look at Real Time Trains for today, in addition to the above, it also seems that 810 010 failed at Chesterfield on 1C20 0732 Sheffield to St Pancras and 810 006 at Leicester on 1D96 2005 St Pancras to Nottingham Service. Is anyone able to verify? If so not a great day for the 810s.

Should EMR cancel the Class 810 order?

I wonder if that was the case whether it is strictly necessary to run the 810s at 125mph on Diesel? As far as I can tell, and please correct me if I'm wrong but there appears to be no more than 17 miles in either direction on the non-electrified midland mainline that is above 110mph - and most...

Stopgap options to cover for delays to introduction of Class 810 for EMR?

That's great news if true. I wonder what they would do about Long Eaton, as it can only take 4 cars and from reading another thread I don't believe the Class 221s have SDO? Keep them on the Sheffield Fasts and the Nottinghams perhaps - is there much interworking needed? Edit: Actually further...

Stopgap options to cover for delays to introduction of Class 810 for EMR?

I would imagine there will be a lot of difficulty getting hauled 222s pathed through the southern MML. I think the best option is to see if Central Rivers can do some work on the 222s and possibly look at using the ex-avanti 221s - which I would like to happen and think is logical, but I'm sure...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Incidentally I was on 810 013 on Thursday, as it happens trying to measure its acceleration myself just as a bit of fun, on my way back from Leicester. I've not really done this before so I didn't have anything to compare my data to in terms of other Auroras but I certainly didn't get the...

Will EMR be treated.different when GBR take over?

I'm assuming this is to do with EMR's current less than ideal performance, and possibly the fiasco with the 222s potentially leaving without 810s having completely taken over, and that not wanting to tarnish the "image" of GBR. I don't know but I'd be interested to find out. Wasn't it said...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

I was on an 810 last week, I didn't get the unit number, but I found it quite funny to see what appeared to be gaffer tape already holding some paneling in the ceiling together next to the sliding door between the vestibule and saloon. Still I think these are quite good trains.

Potential cascade options for Voyagers on leaving XC?

This is an interesting point re sprinter differentials east of Nottingham that I was looking into recently, and I wonder if other forum members would be able to confirm? I was looking at a sectional appendix recently for the area east of Ely and noticed all speed limits on that section were...

    Guess the Station...

Okay let's get this going with an easy one that I'm sure will be instantly recognisable to many.

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Sounds like 013 got caught up in quite a bit of disruption yesterday then. I wondered where the 222 came from to make that swap at Leicester but that makes sense, it was very overcrowded on board (think there was some kind of football game on) when it turned up at Loughborough but I'm grateful...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

I was waiting for what RTT says was 810013 on 18:32 St Pancras to Sheffield. A set swap to a 222 occured at Leicester, not sure what the reason for this was.

Hertford East? Open floor if correct!

Cycles at Stations: Red Rear Light Safety Risk?

I think this is something that could be done with being put on the bike policy on all the TOC's website. I've just checked my local operator EMR and also on the National Rail site and it doesn't seem to be mentioned on there. As this thread highlights there is clearly a risk with displaying red...
