    Definition Merseytravel City Line

I do always feel that the Mersey Rail lines could be a bit more over the top and have more than three so as to, not only simplify lines but to show different services along the same track - imo the case over the Wirral Line going to places with different identities

    Northern franchise awarded to Arriva.

A number of Northern stations near me have recently had their lampposts and handrails all repainted in Northern corporate colours. Is there any particular reason for this considering how close we are to Arriva taking over?

    Great Western Livery

Lets hope the next franchisee doesn't also embark on an unnecessary re-branding it seems to be generic enough surely that it can be easily tweaked for the next operator. Regarding the metal gWr on the HST powercar, seems reminiscent of the swallow we saw on HST powercars back in the day. Not...

    GWR Class 800

Will the Hull Trains 180s go to Grand Central then?

    Borders Railway - Now Open

The BBC video that is on the BBC News Site about the boarders railway refers to concerns over the trains reliability; surely this is a silly concern since the sprinters which will be operating the route already operate across Scotland?

    SWT 158 & 159 Refurbishments

How long ago was it that they were last refurbished? They seem to still be quite good inside although it was last year when I last travelled on them.

    New Sub Class 357/3

Quick search on Twitter brought this up: https://twitter.com/fgn_1993/status/625558974067310592 which I assume is the new high density set. Looks alright.

Greater Anglia Good and Bad Discussion

Looks like it's just new seat covers though as that looks like the first group carpet. At least something is being done, has anything been done underneath or with the electrics then or (as that drive said on the LO takeover thread) have they just not bothered.

    General Election 2015 - Thoughts/Predictions/Results

Surely if you're a centre right chap the Liberal Democrats would be a more optimum party for you since they want to make cuts to public expenditure and eliminate the deficit and yet they don't come with the attached 'conservatisms' the Tories have like the abolition of the HRA and fox hunting...

    General Election 2015 - Thoughts/Predictions/Results

One assumes David1987 would have rather seen millions of people lose their savings as RBS and Lloyds collapsed as opposed to the government stepping in to nationalise the banks causing the deficit to increase as we bought out these banks? If this is not the case then you seem to be overly...

    General Election 2015 - Thoughts/Predictions/Results

I wasn't talking about Westminster I'm talking about Holyrood where based on the recent polls labour would have no MSPs if it weren't for the list. And with Carmichael under investigation and the possibility of a prosecution due to him possibly breaking the Represenation of the People Act...

    General Election 2015 - Thoughts/Predictions/Results

While this isn't related to the current topic of discussion the latest polling for Holyrood next year puts the SNP on 60% for the constituencies and 50% for the list! however due to the fact Holyrood uses AMS and not FPTP other parties will exist despite the SNPs 60%. Interesting that if...

    DfT budget cut by £545m

Well they are however I don't think it's wise to discuss whether or not austerity of Keyenesian economics are the way forward here!

    DfT budget cut by £545m

Maybe but you can't get away from the simple fact that whether it's the IFS, IMF or OECD more and more economists are agreeing that austerity is not good for economic growth.
