I think you massively underestimate the savings from Uber. And sure it's not fast as direct from S&B or Northern TVM but probably much quicker than any Trainsplit variant and has no fees. I've only had to contact customer service once, just to chase missing cashback and that took less than a...
As a general rule the contract can exist before payment is taken, when you travel from an unstaffed that doesn't remove your rights just because the fare due is collected later.
I doubt carrying an Oyster balance would be enough to be considered a contract though
I'd just buy it at the station, if you want ToD anyway no point in buying online unless you're going for some kind of incentive and it doesn't sound like it qualifies for Club Avanti or any cashback schemes
Most TfW routes already use Anytime Day returns exclusively, and nothing has changed regarding period returns. So there is not any impact on BoJ except a small increase in fare on an even smaller number of routes.
No criticism of the OP since the titles is accurate, but highly misleading
This is a concerning statement as they blatantly only push Advances (which are often very poor value) not Anytimes.
But this this actually isn't much of a change at all, unlike other TOCs TfW mostly use Anytime Day Returns, in fact at a glance I can't see any CDRs available already. And I say...
Aberystwyth trains are always announced at New Street as the “front two coaches," which is accurate after the train reverses at Shrewsbury, but at New Street they are actually the rear two coaches. The reverse applies to the Pwllheli portion too
I've been using them extensively the past couple of weeks, there is no requirement to buy anything in advance or select a specific train and I haven't done either at any point. They have occasional announcements to go to the (trackside) TVM if you haven't paid for the unrestricted supplement...
I'm actually in Osaka right now, so I can confirm there is definitely no departure-specific component. Japan is is a perfect example of a walk up railway (though personally I'm using a Rail Pass it works really well for turn up and go with no booking) Here's a video I took a video just now...
I have no idea why you're bringing gender into this, but I can asure you that has no bearing on person's willingness or ability to stand, and sounds like it may be bordering on sexism.
The railway as a whole is inherently loss making and you're suggesting it should refuse to take my and...
Yep, if the purpose of passenger rail is to provide public transport, preventing it from doing so makes zero sense under any circumstances. If the purpose is to provide entertainment for wealthy car owners then sure go ahead.
Obviously the industry should cater to passengers who consider travel...
I think the benefits of a public railway such as SNCF are significantly diminished when passengers are effectively prevented from relying on it. Over the long term, the reduction is so substantial that, if it were quantified, the figure would probably sound unbelievable.
I have no idea what any...
I don't know why you insist that the railway should only exist as a government subsidised rich man's play thing to take people on holiday. And that no one should have a choice in the matter, and that this some how benefits those on lower incomes?
If premium travel conditions are a concern make...
