Well done mate, it's all been worth it!

Week Three for us was just really heavy going in terms of content, everything thrown at us and very little time to digest before moving on to the next subject. Looking back, it stands out as the big week, at the time it was hard work.

I drove about an hour for my medical without any bother mate, I wasn't told not to. I suppose stress and blood pressure can be the only reason, and lack of parking of course, but it wasn't an issue for me!

My advice would be, don't hand your notice in until you have your start date officially in writing. That's what I was told to do. Just in case anything gets delayed. you don't want to be sitting at home having finished your old job, but not having started the new one mate

With me it was a case of receiving a phone call from the medical people to organise a suitable date for all. They were quite flexible. I can't remember exactly as it was a few months ago, but I'm pretty I had the medical within a couple of weeks of being contacted

I live in Lincoln, my signal box is near Newark and my Medical was in Sheffield, so about an hour away from me. I think there are a few locations nationally for the medical, as there are for training schools.
