These trains are to provide a service from Glasgow to Dunblane rather than Dunblane to Aberdeen. There are gaps in the local service in the evening between Glasgow and Dunblane which are compensated by providing calls in the intercity services.

There are internal systems with live train running, but SBB don't have the same open data policies that Network Rail have, so no Swiss equivalent of RTT with freight schedules on it. SBB do publish train graphs, but as with British working timetables, what's planned to run and what actually...

Yes, there are loops on the WHL where trains cross to the right rather than the left and yes it was to minimise shunting when accessing freight sidings. HSL-Zuid is left hand running between the Belgian border and just before Rotterdam Centraal. Cheers, Ewan
