Having 2/3 of the 42’s running out of Macc suits the timetable with 2 out of the 3 buses starting and finishing in Congleton. The 38 is more complex, the 0555 off Macc upon arrival in Crewe forms the 0740 37 to Northwich, explaining why the this particular journey is run by Crewe. The other 3...
I don’t know where you have got the information about a shortage of drivers at Crewe from but that is not that case, Crewe has had reasonable staffing levels for a while. The reason Crewe are not taking on anymore work is because the yard is at full capacity.
In terms on the 38’s. They were...
The dead running time is the same regardless of time of day, all dead runs between Crewe depot and the bus station are given 10minuets to complete.
In the current Monday to Friday timetable on the 37 it doesn’t involve any dead runs between Sandbach Common and Crewe depot. On Saturday there...
The majority of 38’s are ran by Crewe however Macclesfield run some late journeys M-F, one round trip after 19:00 on Saturday and on Sundays it split one bus from Crewe one from Macc.
Out of the 3 buses that operate the 42 two are ran by Macc and one is ran by Crewe.

On Sundays D&G won’t run services unless funded. If Cheshire East wont fund the first trip from Crewe to Northwich they won’t run it. The trip would run at a loss if ran commercially.
If Cheshire east and west stopped funding for bus services in Cheshire most services would disappear. This would be the case regardless of operator, if D&G decided to pull out of Cheshire whichever company came in to run the routes would require the same funding D&G do. There is simply no money...
On school days one of the 42’s is required to be a large bus so it can fit all the kids on from Holmes Chapel school, most days it’s got 5201 on it so I’d assume this would stay on the 42’s.
As previously mentioned Macc will have to acquire at least one more vehicle when they start to run the...
Macc’s PVR is going to increase by 2 so it likely they will acquire 2 more vehicles off another depot or buy an additional two vehicles.
570/1/2 would be suitable in terms of size but as mentioned it’s likely they will acquire a further two vehicles to run the route.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any information on TFW Holyhead and Llandudno depots.
How many drivers/guards are based there and also what routes do they sign?
Im assuming the both depots are small especially Holyhead? I’m sure I read somewhere on here that there...
Hi all,
I posted something similar on here about 5 years back asking about what routes Buxton driver/ guards sign. Since all direct service from Buxton to Blackpool and Wigan have stopped.
Do they still sign to Blackpool and Wigan? If so I can’t imagine they have many trips to Blackpool surely...
The is a handful of Northern ECS movements over the Denton line, mainly coming from Newton Heath. Two at afternoon peak that form the Chester Service from Stockport. All others are early morning/ late night.
As for freight it seems to be pretty regular throughout the day. You are best looking at...
Thanks for the info. Nice to hear that Piccadilly have finally started singing a long distance semi-fast service (barrow/ Windermere) where as in the past they seem to be limited to the “eastern” local stopping work.
I’m assuming the barrow/ Windermere and Preston are only signed by a couple of...
