    RMT industrial action 5th - 12 September 2025

There's a planned engineering works on the Central Line this weekend, that should add to the confusion, as there'll be Rail Replacement Buses booked!

London Underground frequencies and timetables during part line closures.

With Richmond closed the normal operation is 6tph Ealing - Upminster, 6tph Wimbledon- Upminster, 3tph Wimbleware, 3tph Wimbledon- Tower Hill and 3tph Olympia - Edgware Rd. This keeps the Central area reduction to only 3tph.

    Victoria Line diagramming

But drivers step-back virtually all day at both ends of the Victoria line. Running a good service on the Victoria is more about keeping the drivers on their schedule rather than the units themselves. Re-forms (I.e. changing the train number) during service are commonplace. As is the instruction...

Piccadilly Line trains out of service

I think the issue was those 2 storms that blew off all the leaves in one or 2 goes, rather than a lighter, spread leaffall.

Staff on the platform announcing mind the doors

The frequent commuter does know what to do on a platform around a train. But London has a lot of tourists and they may not. Ironically most stations only deploy SATS on the platform in the peak, which is mainly commuters. But generally they are there to keep the service moving in the peak. They...

Bakerloo line re-extension to Watford Junction: why not now?

Putting it simply, the Bakerloo hardly ever had a full service to WFJ, just a couple of trains in each peak, and that was only to make use of stabling at Croxley Green. The additional tube trains to run to Watford aren't available. The 4th rail would have to be reinstalled. The current LO...

Piccadilly Line replacement buses at Finchley Central?

Any occasion we close King's Cross to Cockfosters. Daytime set up is for PL5 and PL6 both operate, one does all stations Cockfosters to Arnos Grove then runs off to Finchley. The other does all stations Arnos Grove to Finsbury Park adding in New Southgate. That was the same both times this...

    Last tube cancelled

Write everything down, in theory they should book you a taxi, but book one yourself and contact TfL to reimburse.

    Picc Line Closures

There are a suite of several Replacement Buses in preparation for this weekend, which have been subject to substantial revision due to the RM70 event. So currently not able to give full details of all the Replacement Buses being operated that weekend. Suffice to say if you are crazy enough to...

Northfields terminators. Are there Northfields starters?

There are scheduled Northfields reversals on most regular service patterns.

How do drivers get to underground sidings?

Officially exiting or entering any sidings on foot should be done with the current turned off. For instance the train that stables nightly at Victoria Sidings on the Victoria Line, the driver after shutting down the train should wait for current off before exiting. Whether he/she does or not is...

    Piccadilly line at Turnham Green

No, it would part of an increase in service through the central section of the line, requiring more destinations for the trains.
