Newster, when I completed my medical for a trainee train driver I formally heard back that I passed the medical exactly 1 week later. Six days after this I received a contract in the post from the TOC, to which I signed and sent back in the post immediately. Nine weeks later I began training school.
Simon11 makes a great point about getting someone to review your CV and application. You seem to have a lot of dedication which is commendable so I would advise you to take a step back and get your CV and application checked over.
