810018 has an issue with its brakes, which caused it to block the Down Fast for a period of time.
Once it was able to get moving again, it was signalled over to the Down Slow, for it to be looked at further whilst platformed at Kettering.
However, it has now failed once again with its brake...
Currently on 1R78 and running at a significantly reduced speed between Shippea Hill and Ely.
According to our guard, the signaller has asked our driver to inspect the track, hence why we’re going slow.
Certainly a lot of side to side movement even at such a low speed (at times, 20mph or less).
The state of pretty much every DB owned yard says it all.
Run down and neglected looking. They often resemble a scrap yard as opposed to a working yard.
GBRf, in contrast, are much better presented in all areas.
I can’t post the sources on a public forum but there’s smoke within Totley tunnel. The fire is trying to be identified.
I think NRE have just gone for the ‘safe’ option regarding the reasoning.

810018 working the last St Pancras to Nottingham service is now experiencing issues and has come to a halt between Market Harborough and Leicester.
It’s also the last direct service of the day from St Pancras to Sheffield.
Needless to say, unit availability between the 222s and 810s has been absolutely dire.
The 360s have completely fell over too.
EMR's 'Connect' service is now completely suspended, due to multiple unit failures. EMR Intercity services making additional calls at Northants stations.
This section of the line gets mentioned a lot regarding bumpy rides. I've been told its been reported multiple times by train crew, however Network Rail say its within safe tolerances.
Conditions onboard stranded EMU trains without power are, as expected, deteriorating fast. Let's hope recovery is pronto, before passengers start self-evacuating.
