Why does FGW get so much bad press?

I commute between Slough & Ealing every day and people especially at Hayes & Southall just cram on and don't move down the train. You get funny looks when you ask to get off!!! Fair play to FGW, the busiest trains seem to have 5 or 6 coaches, I can only think of one that is a 3 coach service...
