The payment card is not required for TVM collection for any UK rail purchase on Loco2, regardless of whether you pay with a debit/credit card or PayPal.
All that is required is the ticket collection reference and a valid debit/credit card...
You're right, this would be a great feature! You can already add one 'via' to a search by clicking the More Options button when you create your search. This enables you to specify where to split a journey, and you can state how long you'd like to stay, from 15 mins to hours or days.

It'll be interesting to see if this is rolled out to agents as well as the TOCs offering it on their own websites. Seems as though lots of new features and benefits are being offered on each TOCs own site only e.g. Cross Country waiving the £10 admin...
That's a really good point. A tricky one to convey though since you're right, more or less every other rail operator prices tickets one-way, and a return as 2 singles.

Just to let you know that Bahncards are now included in the railcards menu on Loco2 so you can them to your search and apply applicable discounts to your bookings.
