Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

On the first point, that is not in the scope of what the TRU is delivering. Might happen in the future as part of the station master plan that did the rounds online earlier in the year. The warehouse owner was apparently approached as part of TRU but didn’t want to sell. Apparently they live...

Trains all at a stand in the Manchester area... (Thursday afternoon 06AUG2026)

I would travel earlier via Doncaster with LNER and go via the hope valley. TPE won’t recover tonight.

AWC CAR-OXN Auto announcments for TPE services

It’s cost. As far as I’m aware, when TPE had more info put on screens etc at Leeds, they had to pay for it.

Calling patterns once Trans Pennine Route Upgrade is complete

Wasn’t there an infographic posted on a thread a while ago? Which showed the planned post TRU timetable. Guide Bridge isn’t the issue with a second stopper between Huddersfield and Manchester, it’s the capacity between Marsden and Stalybridge, and whether freight paths are prioritised.

    Standedge Tunnel Fire 25/1

The lack of information for those travelling in and out of Huddersfield is quite alarming. My friend who makes that journey daily is so annoyed he’s just gone by car.

How do you solve a problem like Bradford?

Poor idea. What happens if there’s engineering work at Brighouse. Where do you spin the Sheffield service if Huddersfield has no capacity. A reminder that with NPR, Huddersfield will gain another bay platform due to passive provision.

Who are Yorkshire's big winners and losers in the NPR reboot? I'm genuinely confused.

What previously announced electrification. If you’re on about Sunak’s ‘Network North’ that included things that had already been built such as Manchester Airports Metrolink station, the announcement of in upgraded A road in that northern place called Bognor Regis and a mass transit system in...

Could the Hope Valley be better utilised, following the completion of the upgrade scheme?

This is what happens when your operation is reliant on rolling stock that’s up to 40 years old. There’s corrosion issues amongst your typical day to day problems. Plus add in the lack of quality in what CAF provided in terms of their units. A lot rides on Northern getting their new trains plan...

Bee Network livery spotted in Manchester Piccadilly

Northern or whatever GBR becomes. Becoming tedious the whole bee network rail stuff.
