I work with Stagecoach and have worked in a few places. It varies from depot to depot. Where I work now we have bus boards and duty boards. But we sometimes have 4 or 5 buses on layover at bus stations, so the having the bus boards certainly helps in finding shuttle buses.
Aberhill have started receiving ex national express Caetano Levantes for the extra X58/X60s. What are Glenrothes getting? Extra E300s for the X54? Are the coaches released by the X54 enough to cover the extra Edinburgh every hour?
They clearly want to attract annoyed ScotRail customers. It's no coincidence that Kinghorn, Burntisland, Aberdour (X57) and Markinch (X61) will gain peak time direct services to/from Edinburgh.
X60 three times per hour! 12 buses an hour from ferrytoll.
X61 twice per hour from Glenrothes to Edinburgh via Cowdenbeath. The Leven-Glenrothes bit will be stand alone during the day with extensions to/from Edinburgh at peak, i.e. the withdrawn X9 journeys. So off-peak, 3/hr from Glenrothes to...
X60 still via the coast to St Andrews. I think X58 alternating all day between Kirkcaldy and short runs to Dalgety Bay.
And it will be the only through (Stagecoach) service.
Found out today the Aberhill extra express work is the X58 to Cupar and Dundee. X60 going via Chapel and Halbeath. X54 is definitely going low floor North of Glenrothes and replaced by a new Leven-Glenrothes-Cowdenbeath-Edinburgh service.
Just reporting what I hear. The new service would be X53. The old folks will be happy because I believe X53 and X54 would be at least mostly low floor operated throughout. No change to the routing of X26 or X54, but yes, the X4 would disappear again.
64 is staying with moffat. Glenrothes doing the 20a and b1 from July. St Andrews gain 95/97s. New Edinburgh-Glenrothes-Leven-Cupar-Dundee service introduced too.
